That's more like what Jackie described as a "domestic partnership". Like I said, I think there should be no difference between a "domestic partnership" and a marriage, escept for the fact that a marriage had religious connotations.
The root, or the origin of the word is a religious concept. That was my point
A non-religious marriage is like saying I take communion every time I eat a saltine or drink wine.

Nevermind. I suppose it's become such a part of modern society that it's lost the religious connotation. In that case, I suppose gay "marriage" is fine
