I hear what you're saying, but as a fan I gotta stay positive.
Losing Wang really hurts. He was everything the Yankees have been looking for in a pitcher in recent years. Young, good stuff, and most importantly, he was not affected by the pressure of playing for the Yankees.
From here on out, the Yankees basically need to win almost every start that Moose and Johnson make. Then, if they can win one of the other three per week, they'll be in decent shape.
It's also hard for me to believe that a line-up as good as the Yankees won't win these slugfests here and there when their other 3 pitchers start. Their top 5 hitters are all batting over .300, and Giambi might get there by the end of the year. Plus, Posada is no slouch batting in the 7th spot.
Am I convinced that the Yankees will get to the postseason? No. But I still think they have the talent to get there.
Interesting stat: Although he doesnt yet have the minimum required at-bats (he's only a few under the mimimum), when he does get there, Giambi will have the highest OBP in the AL.
