Vengence 2005 thoughts. Post PPV discussion.

I didnt get to see anything but the two Title matches. (although I did read JV's review, so I am pretty much up to speed.)

My thoughts:

Edge needed to win. Granted he has legit heat with Lita and he doesnt really NEED the win, but it would have made a hella lot more sense to push Edge at this point. Why give Kane the win? Didnt he just face Viscera at Backlash? When is the last time you gave a shit about the character Kane. Edge should have set his ass on fire and sent him away till Mania22. Kane rebuilds his image while Edge gets the super mega heel heat.

This made no sense to me.

Christy vs. Victoria......next

My guess is that Vince is thinking he did a good job booking the Cena match. Nobody really picked Cena, yet Cena wins...........Now what?

So they may combine the Cena title with the Batista title while creating a new one for Smackdown? Where does the Harley Race and Ric Flair title reigns go? They are attached to that WCW/NWA belt. Its ludicrous to unify them IMO.

I started another thread regarding HHH. Seriously, that dude has earned my respect for the rest of his career and beyond. He was an awesome Mega Heel against the Rock and Mick Foley 5 years ago, then 3 years ago everyone and I mean everyone was getting tired of his winning ways. Look at him now.

He has basically given the torch to Batista. He wont light it for him, but he has let him hold it. I realize that Batista is older than HHH and its not handing him the torch per say, but gawd damn. He has Batista beat HIM CLEAN 3 straight matches?!?!?! Tell me the last time Austin, Rock, Goldberg, Sting, Nash or Undertaker let that happen to them.

Think about it.

My thoughts

I thought that it was pretty good, i wish that matt hardy would have came out, but other than that it was decent, but not the best that I have ever seen. But, I did like the Angle vs. Michaels match and HHH vs. Batista

My thoughts

I thought that it was a decent show, although Matt Hardy would have gotten a hell of a reaction. HHH vs. Batista was a hell of a match and HHH really has sold Batista. Although I can't really figure out where they are going to go with it now. Also where is the Big Vis and lillian saga going???

Just read JV's full review and he is right. One of them is most likely moving to SD, my guess, hoping, is Batista. Then they scrap this new belt nonsense.

I really can't express how much I don't want to see another belt.

Hopefully Batista comes out towards the end of the 6 man match and pins the last guy or something cheesy along those lines.

Was a good show, HBK/Angle stole it again of course. And there were a lot of great spots in the 3 way dance, which I'm sure Jericho and Christian all planned and just had the new kid follow along.

Just got home from it, wicked PPV... loved every bit of it aside from the tag title match (they need to just move all the tag teams to Raw and only have one tag title and then move the cruiserweights to smackdown) and I hated the Vis thing, Godfather comin back was kinda cool but it'll probably be a one time thing. So really that was time i'll never get back. HBK/Angle was a wicked match, wonder if they'll have the 3rd tie breaker at Summerslam? Even the Cena match was great... i thought the finish was weak tho... Jericho gets kicked over and rolls almost half way across the ring to get out. And WOW thats awesome that HHH put over Batista! hopefully batista will go to smackdown now tho cause i agree with simon this new title stuff on smackdown is retarded.

I was not a happy chappie last night.

I mean, is there any creative writing in the wwe at all?
Last night was probably one of the worst nights in recent memory.
Batista winning wasn't right, edge should have used his contract last night and then had him drafted to smackdown because it would make sense.
Cena winning was ok but jericho or christian would have been a better pick imo.

Small edit:

I'VE REACHED 100! This is my 100th post>

I thought last nights PPV was a good one.....

Christy has come along way, she was ok in the ring, and with some more training I think she can be as good as any of the other female wrestlers. You've gotta give her credit, at least she’s not just standing round looking pretty, she’s willing to take a bump or two.
I don't think Edge's loss hurt him too much. Kane was made to look like a monster again, and that’s the Kane I like. He no sold on a few of occasions, which I liked, and also Snitsky came out to help Edge and he fended him off aswell. The real Kane is Baaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!

Whilst watching the Lillian and Big Vis segment, I was cringing, I was hoping they weren't going to do another wedding angle... they always end in disaster. Huge suprise to me seeing the Godfather come out, I liked the way they did it. I'm thinking they should team up Big V and the Godfather and create a tag team, maybe call them the PIMPS. I'd probably like Big V then!

As for the WWE title, I saw no way that John Cena would lose. I mean the company has built him up big time, and with a CD out and allot of merchandise, they were hardly going to give him a 3-month title reign.

After watching RAW on Monday night I knew Batista would win. I wasn't expecting any big spots, just a bloody and brutal match, and that’s what we got. The use of weapons was effective if you ask me. Batista has now been made to look real strong as he's beaten Triple H arguably the best in the business today. It'll be interesting to see where Batista goes from here. There's 2 ways he can go if you ask me, First and my preferred option is get drafted to Smackdown! and be that brands champion. Or the second is a feud with John Cena with the view of a unification bout at SummerSlam.

Something I would have liked to see was maybe Edge coming out at the end of the Hell In A Cell Match and challenging Batista to a match right there and then. It would have been smart booking since Batista would have just been through a gruelling match and would have an excuse for losing.

Overall I enjoyed the PPV and would give it a thumbs up.
