| To be fair, Bonds was nasty before he roided up. Why he did, I have no idea - the guy was still a power hitter, and an accurate hitter, before he bulked up. He was also a lot faster, and a lot healthier.
You can't deny Bonds' ability to hit, but if you look back to the impact of roids on his career, all you have to do is look at other power hitters, and how many times they fly out to deep left/right/center. Almost every time Bonds would've flied out to the warning track, he actually put the ball out, thanks to the added strength. That doesn't necessarily invalidate his career, but that 70 home runs shit is bunk, and it should be stripped from record. |
