I'm still not sure what to make of the start the White Sox are off to. On one hand they are notorious slow starters and are usually scrambling (and failing) to make up ground in August and September, so this is a good thing. While many of their games are close, many of their big guns aren't hitting yet and Frank Thomas is still on the DL. The starting pitching has been wonderful, and John Garland has FINALLY learned how to string good starts together. Two years ago he showed flashes of finally getting it, last year he would have 2 good starts 1 bad followed by 2 bad starts and one good. Now it seems he's finally learned to be consistant.

On the other hand...I'm waiting for them to turn into a pumpkin. They still have some unknowns in their everyday players, and can Carl Everett remain this consistant? Will the Jermaine Dye experiment continue to tank? Can the starting pitchers stay healthy? Is Tadahito Iguchi going to continue to play solid defense and is this recent hitting tear he's been on going to last? Will they be forced to move Everett to the outfield once Thomas rejoins the active roster (that could be ugly). Most importantly...is their bullpen going to fall apart? This is their biggest weakness, and to be honest I wasn't that happy with it going into the season. I don't like the way Guillen uses a lot of the guys, and some of them just don't belong in the majors. We have 2 reliable bullpen guys, everyone else is a crapshoot when they take the mound.

*sigh*

Why can't I be happy they have the best record in baseball? Oh, I know why...cause its still the first week in May.
