And thats only because of what happened 2 months earlier. We NEEDED that win that year. I've said this before, and I'll say it again: I would trade in all 4 championships I saw in my life if the Yankees could have won that year

Well, we'll always have those three incredible games at Yankee Stadium to remember.

Oh, and that was the same day that my unstoppable (and defending champion) intramural football team got beat in the playoffs when the other team scored in the last minute and went for two to win the game rather than go for one to send it to overtime

By the way, did anyone notice who the one Yankee to be mentioned as doing something good in Games 6 and 7 of 2004? Derek Jeter. Just found that interesting.

Jeter is the Yankees...you can bring in Johnson and A-Rod and all these other bastards but the leader is Jeter and he leads by example..I can't stand the guy and it's most likely because he always gets the big hit...I knew once the old Yankees were broken up and these new guys from other places were brought in it would be a struggle at first..but I didn't realize that they would go this long without a championship...I mean, it's just not the old Yankees you used to know.

Jeter is the only one left from that special team who is still in his prime really. I've said it a million times..you don't build championships with all-stars..You have a few stars but then other people who fill a role. They are just all out there waiting for a three run homer it seems..
