you never know what is propaganda. a few years ago the EPA and the WHO each released separate studies showing that 2nd hand smoke is deadly and increases chances of lung, throat etc cancer. it turns out that they completely made up the numbers, counting everyperson who lived w/ a smoker and died of any health related cause (i.e. heart attack, stroke, any kind of cancer etc) as dying of 2nd hand smoke. the studies had to be thrown out b'/c they were blatant lies..
i'm not saying that report is a lie, i'm just saying that it may 'overstate / overemphasize' their findings. i don't know.
i do know that i smoke almost everyday ( only stopping when i run out or when on vacation w/ parents) i get very good grades (mostly A's w/ a few B's) in college (KU) and will start law school next semester. i do occasionaly suffer from depression, but i have since i can remember, likely since before the age of 11 whereas i started smoking at 15, it only became an every day thing about 3 1/2 years ago. (i'm now 22) pot has also made me much calmer, i used to get into fights and now while i still hate everyone i just relax and complain a bit instead of getting abusive. ( it takes a lot of alcohol for me to get drunk, but the few times i have been drunk, i became extremely abusive)
as far as i can tell, my memory has changed very little, extremely slight deterioration. when i went to my doctor for checkup 2 months ago, he told me my lungs sounded great, very clear. i get sick once a year around feb for a bout a week, but that has also been the case since i was a child.
i have seen pot lead people to become lazy, but always other drugs have been involved when they become drop-out lazy (often prescription drugs being misused).

i'm not saying pot isn't at all bad for you or doesn't possibly increase chancesof cancer, but somany things cause cancer, i give up. if i wanted to avoid every cancer causing agent i'd have to live in a bubble, even then i wouldn't be safe.
different drugs affect different people in different ways.
but i agree w/ simon that pot is nowhere near as detrimental as alcohol. not even close.
