I just realized something...

For all the talk this year about how we're in an era of offense in the NFL, especially in the passing game, the 4 teams still alive are all top defensive teams. More than that, they're some of the best rushing teams teams in the NFL.

The Falcons were the top rushing team in the NFL this year, and I believe the Steelers were second (the Jets might have been ahead of them). The Patriots got 1600 yards from Corey Dillon in less than a full season of work. Only Philly didnt have a great rushing offense, and thats mainly because they had an elite reciever in T.O.

Plus, there was only one close game in the divisional round, that being Jets-Steelers, and the Jets had the league's leading rusher in Curtis Martin and a pretty good defense

So, when you really think about it, the old-timers who preach defense and running the football still know what they're talking about
