| Its a tough argument.
I think a lot of it centres around the debate over when you can say the foetus is alive or not, and whether you have any right to kill an unborn baby who has no choice over whether it lives or dies...
I for one believe that every case should be considered on its own merits, and I know thats dangerous because you're essentially putting someone's life at risk. I think as a rule, im against abortion. BUT in circumstances such as rape, or having the foetus aborted to save the life of the mother (as per the medical hippocratic oath), and severe disability that will render the child's existence as one of pain and suffering to be exceptional circumstances. I don't think that you should be allowed to abort just because you've had 'an accident'. |
