| Firstly, I am from England, the whole Omaha thing is a joke I had with someone from work, and now when I go out and want to make some friends laugh, I put on my Sting voice, and tell people I'm from Omaha.
And secondly, although I mostly fail due to them being shown late night when I need to be up early the following morning, I try my hardest to follow American sports, since the majority of the English ones suck. And no. Not a chance in hell will they fill the void. Even if it is the same core demographic, until WWE moves back into the mainstream as it did in the Austin 3:16 days, it will still be considered 'uncool' by people who don't understand why we watch. And so the programming comes with this stigmata attached to it, that could very well put many 'serious' sports fans off it. |
