| One thing I never understood is why people bitch about the Yankee's payroll when any team has the ability (if they so choose, or can exact enough revenue from advertising/marketing/tv deals) to have such an expensive roster. Sure, small ball can win championships as well, but in the end any major market team can choose to spend as much as it wants to get top talent. That doesn't mean that they're going to win championships, though - hell, look at my poor Mets.
As for Red Sox, history has shown, nay proven, that the more excited Boston fans get, the harder their team chokes. |
