First of all, no one is calling this a dream team. At least no one that knows anything about basketball considers this a dream team. It's been embarrassing to watch.

The lack of jump shooting is only one of several problems with this team. This team was just constructed poorly. If Larry Brown could have just taken his Pistons team to the Olympics, or any other intact NBA playoff team, they would've dominated. It looks as though they just tried to put together the most marketable team they could, inviting the biggest names rather than constructing a well rounded team.

This team just doesn't understand how to play by international rules. They get called for traveling at least ten times a game. They never take advantage of the fact that there is no goal tending or 3 second rules. It's clear that everybody the US plays understands how to play by international rules much better than the US does.

The egos on this team are just too big for them to medal. They should be centering around Tim Duncan, but instead everyone seems to be trying to win the game single-handedly. This all just goes to show how truly amazing the 1992 team was. They weren't just incredibly talented, but they played great team basketball. Then again, the rest of the world has gotten a helluva lot better in the past 12 years.
