| the "Shit" episode was a few years ago...they got prior approval to do the show and keep the curses in, on the grounds that the subject of the show was censorship and the context of so-called "curse" words.
The thing that makes South Park so great is that the creators realized early on that a show about foul-mouthed children will get boring after a while, so they slowly worked more political and sociological issues into the show, as well as current events such as the Michael Jackson thing. It's now one of the most clever shows on television.
Also, i heard that it takes them about 1/10th the time to do an episode as compared to the Simpsons, so they can talk about a current event much earlier than the Simpsons can |
