The NBA Finals this year was probably the biggest upset in NBA history, especially considering how convincing the win was.
Also Birdstone, at 32-1 odds, beating Funny Side at 1-5 odds at the Belmont was huge. I'm no horse racing historian but I don't know if there's been a bigger upset than that. I'm pretty sure no horse was ever favored as heavily as Funny Side was.
Buster Douglas beating Tyson is the biggest boxing upset I can think of.
Those are the only major upsets that come to mind, but I'm sure there are hundreds more, especially considering I know very little about the history of soccer and rugby. |
