A Question of Logic Temporarily Postponed- Discussion inside

Im very sorry about this guys, but the site where i get my logic questions from has decided to go down. Its been down since yesterday afternoon, thus there not being a Q of logic last night.

If and when it surfaces again i shall continue running it. But until then its out of my hands.

The results still stand the same as no one could answer the Train Question. I'll post the answer later.

Results:
Mister D: 2 points
Idaman: 2 Points
3D: 1 Point
Good Ol JP: 1 Point
JM: 1 Point

Thread is now open to ponder the following...

I have 3 unmarked, oblique envelopes. In one of them i have placed a 50 dollar bill. I shuffle them up and give you ONE of the envelopes while i keep the other two.

You cant look inside your envelope, but I can look inside my two and discard one empty envelope. (If one of mine has the bill i discard the empty one, if both are empty i discard a random one)

I then offer you a trade, my undiscarded envelope for your unseen envelope. Will swapping envelopes increase your odds of obtaining the 50 dollars? Or wont it make a blind bit of difference.

Discuss which answer you think applies and why. This puzzle has created alot of controversy between various thinking parties.

No need to PM this one, its not for scoring as there isnt really a solid answer.. you may all post it here.
