I couldn't disagree with you more.
The reason why is that Bertuzzi has completely shifted his game from offense to a more sound defense game, look at his plus/minus stats, last year he was +2 yet scored 97 points, now he's hovering around +25 and playing a really sound defensive game, yet not shooting nearly as much. Looks like it's gonna stay that way for quite awhile. The way he transferred his game like that shows how good of a player he is.
Which is weird to see what he did last night, this year he had really cleaned up his game, was starting to get that discipline he sorely lacked the past two years (2001-02 suspension), he had stopped taking stupid penalties and started really polishing up his game this season, which is why its a real
shock to see this.
I wouldnt classify Steve Moore as a roleplayer or even a skilled checker whatsoever, he really is a cheap hockey player, he had something coming to him for what he did to Naslund, but as much as I hate the Avalanche and Moore and was quite enthralled to see what was coming to them, what Bertuzzi did last night was just over the line.
I saw the hit last night drinking with my Canuck buddies, the biggest fans of the team you'd ever meet. When I saw it I actually was behind Bert for doing what he did, but mind you I had quite a few beers clouding my judgment. Anyways all sobered up this morning I'm still split on what happened but its really leaning towards a good loss of respect for a guy like #44.
Two years ago he was suspended for 10 games (which cost him the scoring title) for leaving the bench in that brawl. Now you probably won't see him at least until the playoffs if he's lucky. A 20 game suspension at the least is what he deserves.
An eye for an eye I guess for Steve Moore, I really have a genuine disliking for Colorado, so I'm not sympathizing with them or their coach. Granato is probably one of the stupidest men in a hockey position right now and should go in for another brain surgery, thus listening to him ramble and a piece of shit like Worrell who has cheapshot'ed players with punches, makes it damn hard to lend a sympathetic ear to Colorado.
Moore on the other hand had something coming to him, hell I wouldn't want to fight The Incredible Hulk Bertuzzi, but he sure didn't have a blindsided punch to his head in justification.
So basically in closing the turn of events was pretty damn disgusting and I have lost mucho respect for Bertuzzi, but as far as an eye for an eye goes, it still couldn't have happened to a better team or player then Colorado and Steve Moore.
