As for the Flair/Steamboat rumor, Ricky Steamboat addressed it on a radio show last night. He said that he's never been contacted about the match, but he'd love to do it, even with his back injury. He knows that fans would love to see the match as well, so he hopes it happens, but wouldn't necessarily count on it.
The reason WWE has been very light on mentioning the rules for Royal Rumble is that they have not yet decided how they want the match to turn out. Most feel that WWE is aiming towards Goldberg/Lesnar and Benoit/HHH at WrestleMania, so WWE's writers are still working on ways to set these matches up. As of now, they have only mentioned the winner getting a shot at his respective brand's champion, but there's heavy talk of that changing to allow for the aforementioned matches. That's not confirmed.
How fucking awesome would that be to have Flair and Steamboat have a match at WM? To me it would be the biggest draw for WM ever. I know they are both older and nothing what they use to be but just imagine seeing those 2 in the ring facing each other again!
I don't know what to think about Benoit going to Raw and facing HHH at WM. It would be a pretty good match but I don't think it has a big draw like other potential matches could have.
