| Spurs game in doubt Tottenham's final game of the season at West Ham has been cast into doubt after a number of their players came down with food poisoning.
Spurs have informed the Premier League that they may look to postpone the fixture - which will decide fourth place in The Premiership - after several of their squad took ill.
The ramifications of a postponement would be huge, given Arsenal - who are also fighting for fourth - are due to kick off at the same time, as all the games on the last day are.
The Premier League will be keen for the match to be played as planned and spokesman Dan Johnson has stated the game is due to go ahead as scheduled.
"As things stand, the game is still going ahead," said Johnson.
"But a number of players have been struck down by food poisoning. It appears to have hit them in the early hours of the morning."
West Ham would obviously not be keen to play the game beyond this weekend, as they are preparing for the FA Cup final next weekend - after which point all international players involved in the World Cup finals must link-up with their respective nations. |
