Suicide

In a World X Cup preview match all four sides were represented. Team TNA and Team Canada by their captains but team Japan and team International by the vice captains due to the Super X Cup Final taking place on the main show. Suicide and Eric Young controlled most of the early parts of the match with each man trying to inflict as much damage on their opponents as they possibly could. Kiyoshi had a short come back but Young stopped it with a Death Valley Driver. Young himself was stopped dead in his tracks when newcomer Nigel McGuinness nearly took hi head off with a running clothesline. McGuinness, in his first TNA match, didn’t go for the pin but instead stalked Kiyoshi to repeat the devastating move. McGuinness then turned right into a running dropkick from Suicide that sent the English man into the corner with a thud. Suicide followed with a baseball slide to the ribs before pulling McGuinness back to his feet for the Suicide Solution to pick up the three count.

Suicide via Pinfall.

Tanahashi

Mistico used his speed to put Tanahashi off his game but it was never going to be enough on its own to keep the IWGP champion down for a three count. Tanahashi proved this point when he connected with a viciously stiff chop to the chest of Mistico as he came off the top rope. Samoa Joe couldn’t have hit him any harder. Tanahashi followed up with a spinning kick to the temple before pulling the lifeless Mistico back to his feet. Tanahashi then hit a standing enzugiri to put Mistico flat on his back in the centre of the ring. Tanahashi wasted no time in locking in a cloverleaf for the submission victory.

Result: Tanahashi via Submission.

Following the final bell Tanahashi is handed his newly won Super X Cup as well as his IWGP World Championship belt. Tanahashi now has his sights set on the World X Cup as well as a title match against the X-Division champion on an upcoming episode of iMPACT!

We go backstage now where Lauren is standing by with the Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels. Lauren questions Daniels on how it feels for him to have finally solidified himself as a main event wrestler in TNA after seven long and hard years in the company. Daniels admits that he didn’t expect it to take him this long but also guarantees that it wont take him seven more years to finally become a world champion. Daniels says tonight, he lives his destiny, his destiny of becoming TNA World Heavyweight Champion for the first time.

Taylor Wilde, Sarah Stock and The Governor

All six knockouts have been waiting for far too long to once again get there hands on one another and it really showed in the opening minutes as tags were constantly ignored and many rules were broken just to gain the early upper hand. Velvet Sky eventually got the advantage thanks to some hairspray in the eyes of Taylor Wilde behind Andrew Thomas’ back. Sky dragged the blinded Taylor to her corner and the triple team began as Stock and The Governor could do little more than play cheerleaders. Love used the tag rope to choke out Taylor to great effect. Unfortunately for Mi Pi Sexy, Taylor held on and finally got free and dove to tag in Sarah Stock. Stock came in fully rested and raring to go. Stock kicked the match up several gears before locking in an arm bar on Madison Rayne. The Governor positioned herself between Rayne and her partners and acted as a shield to prevent the save and force the tap out from Rayne before her arm broke.

Result: Sarah Stock, Taylor Wilde and The Governor via Submission.

Even after the final bell Sarah Stock refused to release Rayne, with Taylor Wilde having somewhat recovered from her beating, she aided The Governor in holding off Sky and Rayne while the damage was done. Stock finally broke the hold but only because Traci Brooks appeared atop the ramp and demanded she let go. Stock stood over Rayne and instead laid in the kicks. Traci had enough and told the knockouts that it was time they learned a harsh lesson. As soon as Traci finished speaking she was joined by two rather intimidating looking women, one on each side of her. Traci lowered her mic and seemingly gave the order to cause as much chaos as possible as both women charged to the ring and dominated. One hit a butterfly suplex on Taylor while the other hit a modified Piledriver on The Governor before both women hit Stock with a running big boot into a German suplex double team. Madison Rayne then found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time as she received a curb stomp for her troubles. Velvet Sky and Angelina Love thought better than to go into the ring that is littered with four unconscious knockouts. The two women head back up the ramp and escort Traci Brooks backstage again.

Abyss w/ James Mitchell

Matt Morgan felt the pain of the barbed wire early on as Abyss showed unbelievable strength when he lifted the seven footer up over his head and military press slammed him through one of the barbed wire boards resting up against the ring ropes. Morgan screamed in agony which seemed to spur Abyss on. Abyss picked up a steel chair wrapped in barbed wire and used it to shred the back of Matt Morgan. Morgan got some rest when Abyss charged at him but missed and ended up getting caught up in the barbed wore ring ropes. It took Abyss a few seconds to free himself which gave Morgan enough time to grab Abyss’ chair and introduce it to Abyss’ head to bust him open. Morgan went on to torture Abyss with the barbed wire, at one point wrapping some around his neck and trying to hang the monster over the ropes. Abyss hung in there and was rewarded when Morgan missed the Carbon Footprint and Abyss hit a choke slam through another barbed wire board. Abyss wasn’t done yet as he pulled Morgan back to his feet and hit a Black Hole Slam onto the remains to pick up the three count.

Result: Abyss via Pinfall.

After the match, Abyss wipes the blood away from his eyes before setting up some more barbed wire panels, this time resting on two steel chairs with more barbed wire underneath it. Morgan finally started to stir but Abyss kicked him back down. James Mitchell threw something into the hands of Abyss. Abyss takes a few seconds before spraying lighter fluid onto the barbed wire board. Once fully covered, the Monster set it alight and turned his attentions back to Matt Morgan. Morgan stumbles to his feet and soon wishes he had stayed down as Abyss choke slam’s him into the flaming barbed wire board. Morgan’s screams echo around the iMPACT! Zone as Medics rush to his aid, much to the delight of James Mitchell and Abyss. It seems Abyss has never forgotten what Morgan did to him several months ago when he was on the receiving end of a choke slam through a flaming table. For Abyss tonight, Revenge is sweet.

Backstage we see a shocked Jeremy Borash standing by with an equally shocked Booker T and Sting who doesn’t seem that interested in Morgan. Booker makes the comment that he thinks Morgan may be out of the Mafia. Sting interrupts and tells Booker that he doesn’t give a crap about Matt Morgan. Sting tells Booker to make sure his head is in the right place for the main event tonight as they cannot afford to let the TNA Originals get the win and take the TNA World Championship from the Mafia which in turn would take the power away from them as well. Sting again tells Booker to focus on the main event before storming off.

Team 3D

James Storm and Robert Roode picked Brother Devon as the weaker of the two and did their best to isolate him in their corner while at the same time staying fresh themselves. Beer Money used every short cut they could as they succeeded in pissing off Brother Ray to the extent that he broke past Earl Hebner and attacked Storm and Roode. Hebner has the unenviable task of trying to calm the big man down enough so that he would return to his corner. This resulted in more illegal double teaming from Beer Money as Storm used the tag rope to choke Devon while Roode worked over the midsection with punches and kicks to make breathing incredibly difficult. Beer Money remained in control and hit the Beer Money suplex to the biggest pop that they will receive tonight. The fan interaction almost gave Devon enough time to crawl to his corner but Roode cut him off. Roode shifted him focus from the ribs to the neck of Devon with neck breakers and DDT’s that were hit perfectly. The confidence, and arrogance, grew in Beer Money to the point of mocking Brother Ray by holding Devon’s hand out for a tag. Storm spit at Ray at one point which allowed Devon to shove him off and dive for the hot tag. Ray came in fully fresh and raring to go as he literally cleaned house and dominated for the next several minutes against both Storm and Roode. Brother Ray maintained control until Alex Shelley came to ringside for a better view. Ray questioned Shelley being there and ended up on the receiving end of a Northern Lariat from Robert Roode. Roode turned over Ray and got the three count to retain the TNA Tag Team Championships.

Result: Beer Money Inc retain the TNA World Tag Team Championships via Pinfall.

Beer Money celebrated in the ring as Brother Ray complained to Slick Johnson about Alex Shelley watching the match and putting him off. Shelley meanwhile makes his way backstage having done nothing more than stand and watch.

Roxxi gained the early advantage as she seemed right at home with a ladder to use as a weapon. Roxxi made good use by taking ODB and Kong out of the ring with it. Roxxi then threw the ladder at her opponents who caught the ladder and used it as a battering ram on Roxxi as she dived through the ropes. Kong hit a spinning back fist to ODB before pinning Roxxi to become eligible to win. Christy Hemme meanwhile went straight for Rain as soon as the bell sounded and the two are still going at it inside the ring, neither seems to care about a pinfall at this point in time. Awesome Kong climbs back inside the ring and gets their attention. Suddenly the personal problems are put aside as they team up on Kong. Hemme hit’s a running dropkick that Rain uses to pull Kong into a neck breaker. Hemme climbs the ropes and hit’s the FFG before both Knockouts get on top and pin Kong to become eligible. ODB slides back in and hit’s a double clothesline as Roxxi is nearing returning to the match. ODB hit’s a running power slam on Hemme but Rain breaks up the pin attempt. Rain then covers Hemme but ODB breaks up the count and the two begin to trade blows. Roxxi interrupts the session with a double missile dropkick to take both Knockouts down. Rain is first back to her feet which Roxxi takes advantage of and hit’s the Voodoo Drop for the three count. ODB comes off the middle rope and hit’s a diving Thez Press onto Roxxi for the surprise three count. Roxxi is pissed at having to go back into the penalty box and takes a steel chair to the head of ODB as payback. With three knockouts in the penalty box Christy Hemme knows she wont get a much better chance than this as she sets up the ladder over ODB and begins to climb. Kong gets out before Hemme gets to the top which prompts Hemme to hit a diving cross body off the ladder onto Kong. Hemme slowly crawls back towards the ladder and once again starts climbing. Rain comes out of the penalty box but gets rammed into the ring post from behind. One of Traci Brooks’ new enforcers has made her presence known. She climbs into the ring and beats on Kong. As Hemme reaches the top of the ladder, Traci’s second enforcer comes to the ringside area and prevents Roxxi from getting out of the penalty box. Unopposed, Hemme hangs the title belt and retains.

Result: Christy Hemme retains the TNA Knockouts Championship.

Hemme sits atop the ladder with her title belt in hand as Traci’s enforcers leaves just as quickly as they came. Hemme looks slightly confused as to why they helped her out but she isn’t going to complain.

Backstage, Samoa Joe and Lauren are standing by. Lauren asks Joe for his thoughts on tonight’s main event to which Joe replies with seven words. Tonight, Joe is going to kill someone.

Alex Shelley was sent backstage before the bell rang by Andrew Thomas to ensure a fair fight. This seemed to throw Sabin off his game plan as he protested which gave Rave several early near falls with roll ups before Sabin got his head straight and fought back. Rave worked over the back of Sabin in the early part of the match after a vicious backbreaker seemed to cause a lot of damage to Sabin. Sabin tried to call for a time out but Rave wasn’t having any of it and continued to inflict damage on the spine. Rave thought he has Sabin done for when he went to Rock the World but Sabin pulled out and hit an enzugiri to send Rave into the corner. Sabin followed up with a dropkick to the chest before taking some time to recover from Rave’s offence. Sabin recovered as quickly as he could and went to work on the legs of Rave in a bid to keep him down and prevent him hitting anything big anytime soon. Sabin locked in a figure four in the middle of the ring but Rave refused to submit and inched his way towards the ropes for the rope break. Rave was in the figure four for the best part of three minutes and it showed as he could no longer stand upright. Sabin continued to pick apart the legs of Rave with Dragon Screws and various leg submissions holds. Sabin, feeling like he has worn down Rave enough, pulls the champion to his feet and lifts him onto his shoulders for the Cradle Shock. Rave however still has something left as he slides down Sabin’s back and pulls him backwards with a German Suplex, Rave bridges up and gets the three count much to the disbelief of Sabin who thought he had the match in his hands.

Result: Jimmy Rave retains the TNA X-Division Championship via Pinfall.

Sabin protests to Andrew Thomas saying he kicked out at two but Thomas isn’t interested. Sabin then decides to take his frustrations out on Rave by hitting the Cradle Shock after the match. Sabin leaves the ring pissed off and heads backstage. Sabin gets halfway up the ramp when Homicide makes his return to TNA. Homicide walks past Sabin like he wasn’t there and climbs into the ring. Homicide pulls Andrew Thomas away from Rave before handing him his Feast or Fired briefcase. Andrew Thomas accepts it and calls for the bell.

With Rave unable to get back to his feet, Homicide helps him up but soon puts him back down with the Gringo Cutter. Homicide makes the pin and gets the three count on the exhausted Jimmy Rave.

Result: Homicide becomes the new TNA X-Division Champion via Pinfall.

Homicide grabs his newly won X-Division Championships belt and leaves the ring with it held high over his head. Homicide doesn’t seem like he is willing to stay and celebrate as he heads straight backstage with the title draped over his left shoulder. Homicide and Sabin come face to face at the top of the ramp but Homicide merely side steps Sabin and continues on his way.

Backstage Lauren is standing by with AJ Styles. Lauren brings up the fact that it has been four years since Styles last held the world title in TNA and asks if that is weighting on Styles mind ahead of his match tonight. Styles says it doesn’t bother him, as he knows he will become the champion again soon. Soon as in tonight in King of the Mountain. Styles says he has much more experience in this match than any of his opponents and he plans and using it to his benefit. Styles says tonight he will end Sting’s reign and become a four time World champion.

Jeff Jarrett

Submission Match

Angle make his intentions clear right from the get go as he repeatedly tried to get hold of Jarrett’s ankle and work it over for the Ankle Lock. Jarrett spent a lot of the match fighting off Angle without getting any real offence in himself. Jarrett eventually got a break when he nailed Angle with the Stroke. Jarrett went to his trusted Figure Four and Angle was in trouble. Angle desperately pulled himself towards the bottom rope to force the rope break but Jarrett looks to have done enough damage to build on. Jarrett tried an STF but Angle elbowed out of it. As the match wore on both men started to spread out their target area to give themselves a better chance of the victory. Jarrett locked Angle in a Sleeper in the centre of the ring and Angle started to fade as Jarrett held on tight. Angle did the only thing he could as he dropped down with a jawbreaker to Jarrett. Angle instantly grabbed the ankle of Jarrett and started to twist. Jarrett tried to kick Angle off but Angle locked in a body scissors to apply even more pressure. Rather than risk his ankle getting snapped, Jarrett tapped out to make it 1-0 to Angle.

Result: Kurt Angle via Submission.

First Blood Match

Following the thirty second rest for both men, Angle was back on the attack with Jarrett’s head now the focus. Angle pulled the top turnbuckle pad off and tried to ram Jarrett face first into it, but Jarrett fought out and saved himself with a low blow. Jarrett mounted Angle and went to town with right hands to the forehead in a bid to weaken the skin for the killer shot. Angle slipped out and checked his own head to make sure he wasn’t bleeding. Angle walked around the ringside area for a few seconds as both men tried to catch their breath. Angle soon had to catch Jarrett as he sent himself over the top rope with a cross body to floor Angle. Jarrett did just as much damage to himself as he did to Angle as he landed hard on his hip meaning he was unable to follow up. Angle got back to his feet first and stalked Jarrett. Angle grabbed Jarrett by the hair and laid in the left hands to try and bust him open. Jarrett covered up resulting in Angle changing his attack. Angle pulled Jarrett to his feet and got a knee to the ribs for his trouble. Jarrett grabbed the arm of Angle and drove him head first into the steel ring steps with the Stroke. Slick Johnson checked on both men and called for the bell as Angle had been busted open. Jarrett levels the scores at 1-1.

Result: Jeff Jarrett wins.

Loser Leaves Town Match

The match that neither man really wanted it to come to is now a reality, soon enough, one of the two will have wrestle red their last match for TNA. Jarrett was first back into the ring after the restart as Angle took several minutes to recover from the Stroke into the ring steps. Angle wipes the blood away from his face and charges into the ring like a man possessed. Jarrett meets him with a right hand but Angle responds in kind. Both men trade vicious punches to the head with neither man prepared to back down. Jarrett gains a slight advantage but Angle turns it around with a drop toe hold into an Ankle Lock. Angle drags Jarrett back to the centre of the ring and locks in the body scissors. Unlike earlier, Jarrett is now willing to have his ankle break before tapping out and Angle seems willing to comply as he really synchs it in. Jarrett gets closer and closer to tapping but soon finds a burst of adrenaline that he uses to drag himself and Angle to the bottom rope for the rope break. Angle milks the five count by refusing to let go until four. Angle gets back to his feet and stomps on the ankle of Jarrett several times as he tries to get back to his feet. Jarrett eventually uses the ring ropes to get back up but needs to use the corner to stay up. Jarrett challenges Angle to give him some more. Jarrett spits in the face of Angle prompting him to charge at Jarrett. Jarrett side steps Angle and see’s him smash his face off the exposed top turnbuckle. Jarrett grabs Angle by the arm and hit’s the Stroke. Jarrett blocks out the pain of his ankle and turns over Angle to pick up the three count and save his job.

Result: Jeff Jarrett via Pinfall.

After the final bell Jeff Jarrett is helped out of the ring by Rhino as Kevin Nash and several medics help Angle back to his feet. Angle shoves off the medics and punches Nash in the jaw before exiting the ring and stumbling back up the ramp by himself.

AJ Styles

Sting took his time getting to the ring and even then refused to get in which left Booker in a three on one situation that he had no chance of surviving. Daniels hit the Angel Wings, Styles the flying forearm and Joe the Muscle Buster in an impact full opening few minutes. Styles and Daniels then pulled Booker to his feet and threw him over the top rope beside Sting who made sure to get out of the way. Sting helped Booker back to his feet and got a right hand for it. Booker grabbed Sting by the hair and sent him into the ring. Sting was quickly surrounded by Joe, Daniels and Styles who took turns in beating on Sting. Styles hit a Styles Clash before Daniels hit the BME. Joe then turned on Styles and Daniels by hitting a double clothesline. Joe quickly covered Sting and became eligible. As Joe got back to his feet Booker connected with an Axe Kick and a three count to make himself eligible. Styles and Daniels team up once again and beat Booker into the corner. Daniels hit’s the Last Rites and gets a three count to make it three men in the penalty box. Styles and Daniels shake hands before going after each other. Daniels gets the better of it with the Koji Clutch. Styles is close to tapping but Sting is back in. Sting grabs the ankle of Styles and twists unknown to Daniels. Styles fights but ends up tapping out which in turn makes Sting eligible and sends Styles to the penalty box. Sting sneaks up on Daniels and hit’s the Scorpion Death Drop for the three count. Samoa Joe charges down Sting as he tries to set up the ladder. Joe hits an overhead belly to belly suplex before locking in the Coquina Clutch in the centre of the ring. Sting refuses to tap as Booker makes his re-entrance. Booker immediately breaks the submission attempt and trades shots with Joe. Styles is legal again but he doesn’t go into the ring, he instead climbs the penalty box and wait. Joe and Booker make their way into the path of Styles and Styles has no hesitation in hitting a double missile dropkick to both me. Booker ends up falling out of the ring while Joe hit’s the ladder hard. Styles pins Joe but only gets a two count. Sting grabs Styles from behind and attempts the Scorpion Death Drop but ends up receiving the Pele Kick. Sting falls back allowing Styles to cover and get the three count to finally become eligible to win. Joe uses to ladder to eliminate Styles from the proceeding by ramming it into his chest to floor him. Booker climbs back into the ring and gets to eat the ladder courtesy of Joe. Joe waits for Daniels who is able to duck the first shot and dropkick the ladder back into the face of Joe. Daniels quickly hits another BME for the three count to send Joe to the box. Daniels looks around to see no one stopping him. Daniels sets up the ladder and starts to climb but Styles grabs the ankle. Styles slows Daniels down just enough to climb the other side and meet him at the top. Styles and Daniels both fight over the belt on the top but soon have bigger problems as Sting shoves the ladder over and sends both men crashing back to earth. Sting picks up the title belt and begins climbing as the clock counts down for Joe to re-enter. Sting reaches the top and hangs the belt with less than a second to spare as the bell rings as soon as Joe is released.

Result: Sting retains the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Sting unhangs the belt and slowly climbs back down to the ring where he is joined by Scott Steiner for some celebrations. Booker doesn’t join in as he likely doesn’t know who he is at this point in time. Joe stands on the outside, looking to be in a foul mood as Steiner raises Sting’s arm in victory to end the show.
