| Re: WWE The Bash - Results Wow. A hell of a lot of hating for what is possible the best PPV this year thus far.
ECW Scramble was a lot of fun and had the right result. If I was going to complain about it, then I'd say that they could have at least had the match end a different way to the very first Scramble match (which was also for the ECW Title match) but it was a small complaint considering the quality of the match, given those involved in it.
Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho for the IC belt was match of the year thus far. Their best match together (during this fued at least) and was perfect bell-to-bell.
Khali/Ziggler was a lot of fun and helped push Ziggler up the card, as well as open him to a new fued, thanks to the interference by Kane... However, can someone explain why Kane interfered? That made zero sense and wasn't really necessary, but at least it ends the fued well for Ziggler.
I liked the way Priceless and The Colons made every effort to avoid Edge and Jericho's part of the ring, so as to make sure they weren't given an opportunity to win the belts. The two young teams put on a good showing, wearing each other out for Edge to take another golden opportunity to steal gold and make it mean something. I doubt they'll hold the belts long, and the possibility of them fueding with both young teams involved here is great. I also loved Dibiase blowing up on Orton after the match.
Even I have to admit that Melina/McCool was solid, and easily McCool best performance to date, but that by no means excuses her winning the Women's Title. She looked like a complete dick (and I don't mean heelish, I mean goofy) holding the belt. Melina looked great, but Tommy pointed out to me on MSN that McCool won the majority of their interactions before The Bash, which does make Melina look somewhat chumpish... Which is another strike against McCool winning.
CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy was decent, although for some reason I couldn't really get into it properly. I loved the psychology employed by Punk, and his facial expression, pure heel without actually turning. I also disagree with Steve, I think his positioning for the false finish was perfect and his foot was obviously under the rope. The one thing I did dislike about the finish was that Hardy got in a bunch of offence and Punk did nothing to retaliate, even when the referee's were holding Jeff back... However, Punk's continual smiling made up for that. He's playing it smart, and the heel turn is obviously coming, it's just slow burning and will be all the more sweeter when it finally happens.
I was pissed at Cena at the begining of his match with The Miz as he no sold a lot of offence, but it was then pointed out to me that Cena is of a much higher level than Miz and shouldn't be made weak by selling too much of The Miz's low level shots. This was proven right when Miz used the ropes to get the upper hand in the match. Yes, Cena won. Yes, the kicking of the dirt was annoying. But The Miz has benefitted. His profile has been raised, and as long as he is booked well from here on in, I'm happy with the match.
BOREFEST 3000 was entertaining in parts, but mostly because I was surrounded by people taking the piss out of both participants and laughing when either used shit offence (Randy ramming HHH's head into the stretchers padding, ooooh vicious) or when someone looked to have actually hurt themselves (Randy falling off the stretcher after he and Trips had surfed down the ramp and he landed on his ass bone and looked in real pain). I was hugely disappointed in it for many reasons; first, Triple H walked away (please God, give that man a career ending knee injury, soon) second, Dibiase didn't turn on Orton and cost him the Title, leading to a fresh fued for both Orton and Triple H, and third, Triple H's magic hammer forward planning.
Overall, this was possibly WWE's best PPV of the year (Backlash or Judgement Day are contenders however) and I think it bodes well for the future... Except for Kane/Khali and the continuing Triple H/Randy Orton fueds. ...and the rules don't apply to me, brother.
