Holocausts, and our lack of action.

When I was first taught about World War II and the holocaust, I remember my teacher, and it was probably in the 3rd or 4th grade, saying something like, "We must never let something like that happen again."

Some people even ask, "Will there ever be another holocaust?"

Now I can't help but wonder, are we blind? Am I failing to live up to my teacher's demands? There are millions of people around the globe being murdered every year in regions like Sudan, and Myanmar. Even places like Chechnya, we, the free world, have completely forgotten about.

The question I ask is, why? When was it decided that a "good" country is one that also an isolationist?

I'm not saying the United States needs to take action alone. I'm asking why Norway, Canada, Belgium, Poland, Sweden, Austria, New Zealand, Australia ... etc, all of which felt the devastating effects of World War II, also haven't taken any action.

We don't need to be every where, but there are people in need. We're failing them.
