| Why are you agreeing with a point about thumbtacs being stupid??? Youre the biggest Foley mark Ive ever met. THE MAN HAS MADE A CAREER OFF OF BEING THROWN ONTO OF SHARP SHIT! Now with that being said, I do think TNA goes overboard with the gimmick matches. However, I dont mind seeing Daffny in hardcore matches, her gimmick is a pyscho. We're hardly going to have her in boring singles match, like the Shemale People, and have her gimmick make sense. Especially when she cuts promos about how she wants to torture people.
Lets not forget Vince McMahon is the person who let a 68 year old, or older, woman give birth to a hand on global television. He has zero ground to stand on when it comes to anything outlandish on television. Nothing TNA has done so far, has toped that. Infact, TNA more exciting matches than WWE. However, TNA completly mindfucks the storylines and pushes the wong people. Right now I'll take TNA over WWE by a mile. WWE has boring storylines, just pathetic match quailty, and over the top bullshit for the media, Donald Trump buying a show within a company run off of share holders. What the fuck is that, is Trump now a 20% share holder? I know WWE is promoted to jailbait now, but this was clearly not a move for them. Therefore, it made no sense, in the wrestling business sense.
The way I see it, I can look at TNA and say, "Well that was stupid."
I look at WWE and I have to spend hours to wrap my mind around the limits those media whores will go to. Dragqueens, Donald Trump, political members, political impostors, midgets, and so on. This is real wrestling? |
I don't like Foley because he got thrown onto tacks, I like him because of his mic skills and his knowledge of psychology. Nothing TNA does has any real psychology and that is one of the differences, but I would agree that a lot of what Foley did crossed the line and was fairly reprehensible.
Also, I'd just like to say that I only said I agree with Vince's comments about TNA. I didn't say that he was right about his own promotion. He said some things himself that were pretty reprehensible, such as when he claimed that a sledgehammer isn't a household item so it was ok to show Triple H hitting Orton with one. I also think WWE definitely used to do some reprensible things and even now, they have just asked what they have to do to be PG, eg no blood, while the rest of the product remains the same, as the Orton/HHH feud showed.

| Ok, so if you don't suggest that TNA made Daffney do it, I don't understand a purpose of this topic. Who is reprehensible? TNA? If so- why? Daffney? Damn, it's her career and body, why couldn't she do that? Do you think that TNA as federation is reprehensible, because they allowed Daffney to take bump on thumbtacks? If so, wrestling in general is reprehensible sport/form of entertainment. Because taking bumps, stiff punches and generally pain is linked with wrestling. And if allowing wrestlers to take hard shots is reprehensible- wrestling is feckless too. |
TNA is reprehensible. Again, we've been through this in the thread. Its about TNA putting on such violent matches to generate reactions. A woman getting thrown in tacks for a cheap pop is reprehensible.
To imply that a woman getting thrown into tacks is just a normal part of wrestling the same as everyday bumps is retarded.

| I havent seen the match in question. Was the girl who was thrown into the tacks thrown in by a man? Was she play a sympathetic babyface role? |
By Taylor Wilde.

| I think the point was more so that violence against women as a way of getting reactions is reprehensible. |
It's not man on woman violence, but the point is having women do these sort of things shows that they are desperate and will resort to such tactics just to shock people. Extreme violence for ratings is reprehensible.
