| Re: what does everyone think of the resurgance of tweeners Punk's still a face at the moment. If I were to judge based on how he has been booked over the last two weeks he is being kept as a face.
First things first, his justification for his actions at The Bash although they were unpopular they were not heelish. Everything he said was true, and he never lashed out at the fans for not accepting his victory. He simply said that it would be an unpopular choice to some, but it is in theory the same thing he did to Edge last year that at that time made him a universal hero.
That, and they put Punk in a match against the number two heel on Smackdown, and perhaps in the whole WWE. Maybe I'm looking too far into the lines here, but it seemed like an attempt to put Punk against somebody who he'd obviously get cheered against considering the obvious factor that most of the fans (who are Hardy fans) would negatively react to Punk.
Either WWE's slowly turning Punk heel, or they are simply attempting to remedy the situation until his feud with Hardy ends where he can move on to being a full fledged face. |
