Re: Do you have a problem with the Confederate flag?

Quote:
I don't have any problem with the confederate flag. Hell, I have one hanging on my wall here in my room and I'm proud to have it up on my wall for all the neighbors to see through my window when it's open.

Slavery was such a minor issue in the Civil War and it's just bullshit how people are so ignorant about the flag. I mean, if you really think about it, the Confederate flag is no better than the American flag. Just look at all the terrible things we've done under the American flag. All the things we did to the Indians for example. Plus, slavery started under the American flag anyways so the precious American flag is not all pure from that. I consider the American flag to carry more hatred than the Confederate flag. If anything, the American flag should be viewed as racist and a flag of hate.

I just love how people think that Lincoln freed the slaves and that the Union was just complete anti-slavery. Lincoln didn't really care about slavery hardly at all, he just wanted the Union to remain as one.

It's a historical fact that the Confederate flag stood for States' rights. Long live the Confederacy!
Good insight, I never even really thought about that which is a bit surprising considering I have Cherokee in me and my mom's really passionate about it. But yeah, I have no problem with any flag or any symbol. Hell, the swastika has nothing to do with exterminating Jews or any of the Nazi's agenda and look at what it has become because Germany used it as a symbol of hate. As long as it's used as a symbol of pride and heritage and not hate, I have no problem with it whatsoever.
