Re: Twenty20 Cricket World Cup Official Thread

The England game was embarrassing. We didn't bat well enough after we lost the openers, and the bowling/fielding was terrible. We missed the stumps and run out chances too many times, and the Dutch batting was very smart, keeping the run count ticking, with not many dot balls, and lots of ones or twos. All Broad had to do with the last ball was keep hold of it, instead of trying for the stumps, and take the game to the super over. Fair play to the Dutch, they came in with no fear, and played Twenty20 cricket how it should be played. England, take note. We can't play Twenty20 cricket.

The New Zealand/Scotland game was brilliant, even though it was a shortened version of the shortened game, but like the Dutch, the Scots went in with no fear. New Zealand's quality paid off in the end, but I tell you this as a fact, England would not have chased that total successfully.

Chris Gayle won the game for the West Indies yesterday, with his quality batting, again showing how Twenty20 cricket should be played. England, take note, once again. If Gayle is on form for the whole tournament, then the West Indies will go far.

I fully expected India to beat Bangladesh, which they did, but the Bangladeshis are starting to show their quality in international cricket now, and in 5 or 10 years, could be challenging the major nations.
