RAW The Road To The Great American Bash 2K9 Episode 2 of 6
0:00-0:02-The opening video for Raw plays. Last weeks show is recapped, the pyro goes off, and we're live!

0:02-0:11-"You think you know me" hits, Edge makes his way down to the ring to a huge pop. What is usually a mixed reaction seems to be swaying more towards a face pop due to Edge's opposition of the most hated man in the WWE, Chris Jericho.

Edge grabs a microphone and gears up to cut a promo.

Edge:
Last week I once again proved to the world that it is my destiny to be the man here in WWE when I pinned both HBK **Fans cheer**, and Randy Orton **Fans Boo** in a three way dance to capture the number one contendership for the WWE Undisputed Championship.

It seems as if our faithful General Manager Eric Bischoff felt that you the fans didn't just want to see another singles match between Jericho and one of his Judgment Day opponents. For that reason, he let the winner of the three way dance have the esteemed ability to choose what kind of match they want to face Jericho in, and that is why I am out here right now!

**Fans cheer**

Of course Eric gave me a call after last weeks show and went over a few guide lines. There are obviously certain matches I cannot choose. Meaning, as much as I'd like to I couldn't put Jericho in a 15 on 1 Handicap match where if he loses I get the belt.......damn that'd be fun wouldn't it?

With that in mind, I began racking my brain, and the first thing that came to mind was those damn Dudleyz! I'm sure you guys remember that Tag Team.....jeez where are they now? Christian and I feuded with them for what seemed like eons, and all that I remember was how painful it was to pick 5 inch splinters out of my back after facing them cause they had some sort of revered fetish for slamming other guys through tables....HEY, I'm not judging, everybody is into something.

Thinking back, it made me think of how great it would be to win Jericho's belt by slamming him through a table.....but then I took another sip of my drink and thought no I could think of something a bit better.....a bit more....violent.

**Crowd Cheers**

So I thought to myself, last week when I made the save for Triple H......yeah never thought I'd be saying that. I came down to the ring swinging my very best friend, a steel chair! With that in mind, I thought to myself "How about a Street Match" so that I'd have full reign to bash Jericho in the head with a chair and cause him to lose whatever number of brain cells he is fortunate enough to have left......but then I digressed, I could think of something much more violent than that....much more.....

**Crowd Cheers**

Then it came to me.....hell.....I have won more Tag Team Championships than I can count, and for a good majority of those matches Ladders were involved....**Crowd Cheers**....so I think to myself, wouldn't it be to my advantage to make it my specialty, a Ladders match? I got overly excited and then truthfully I got a little depressed....because I realized that with it being a Ladders match it really wouldn't be encouraged for me to slam Jericho through two tables or knock him out with a steel chair. I'd be fairly limited in my execution....

**Break the walls down hits to a chorus of boos! Jericho walks down to the stage in his typical suit. He has a microphone in hand and has Mike Knox standing tall behind him.**

Jericho:
You come out here, and waste ten minutes of time on MY TV show for something that could have been faxed to Eric Bischoff? These fans already feel entitled enough without bearing any responsibility for what we do to our bodies. Edge, why would you further that stigma? You've suffered a broken neck that put you out for over a year. I want you to realize when I say this to you, I'm doing it from a place of kindness, a place of compassion, I'm trying to save you Edge. You don't want me in a tables match, in a street match, or a ladders match. It's just far too dangerous for you, and for me. Be grateful that you get to go down in time as my first defeated opponent in what will be a legendary title reign and simply choose for us to face each other in a classic, dignifying, singles wrestling match.

**Fans boo**

Edge: You know what Jericho.....you're right...!

**Fans boo louder**

Edge: Somebody needs to be saved.....the only problem is that somebody isn't me, and it certainly isn't you, it's every one of these millions of fans who have to put up with your boring, robotic, soap opera villain wannabe act. That is why in 4 weeks at the Great American Bash I'm going all out. I'm going to combine all the things that make me tick, the Tables, the Ladders, the Chairs......I guess you could say that we'll be having a...T.....L......C match!

**Edge drops down his microphone to a huge ovation. The fans are ecstatic at this revelation. Jericho who is looking cross as a result of his point not coming across leaves. We fade out of the segment.**

A promo from earlier during the day airs with Jeff Hardy. Hardy addresses how lucky he was last week to not suffer the same fait as John Cena. Hardy accuses Shad as being nothing more than hype. Hardy says Shad couldn't put away Cena at Judgment Day, and he couldn't put away himself (Hardy) last week on Raw. As a result Hardy accuses Shad of not being able to win matches at a Main Event level. He challenges Shad to prove him wrong by taking him on at the Great American Bash and instead of resorting to trying to end his career with a steel chair, wrestle the match.

Tag Team Championship, The Colons VS The WGTT (C)
It is announced that as a result of last week there are no count outs in this match. The match is back and fourth for the first five minutes. Within the mid match mark the Colons begin dominating. The match ends with the World's Greatest Tag Team yet again taking the easy way out when Benjamin nails Carlito with the Tag Team Championship resulting in a DQ finish. The Colons win, but the WGTT keep their belts.
0:26-0:27-Another promo from earlier in the day is shown where The Kung Fu Cowboys say that they want to climb the ladder in the WWE so that they can win the Tag Team belts. That is why last week they decided to back up their good friend Rey Mysterio and get the attention of Legacy. They challenge David Smith and Jamal to a match at the Great American Bash.

0:31-0:33-In a deja-vu from last week the Colons burst into Bischoff's office frustrated with the out come of the Tag Team Championship match. Bischoff agrees that once again the World's Greatest Tag Team, despite having a ton of talent took the easy way out. Bischoff says that he is going to fix the situation for good. At the Great American Bash it will be the final chapter between the World's Greatest Tag Team and the Colons when they face off in a No DQ Falls Count Anywhere match for the Tag Team Championships.

0:33-0:38-Legacy are backstage in their private locker room. Orton informs Dibiase that last week Bischoff gave Legacy the chance to select one member to take on Mysterio for the IC belt at The Bash, and Orton has decided that since he himself has other business to take care off Ted Dibiase is the prime candidate. Orton tells Dibiase that this is his one chance to redeem himself. Orton then asks Dibiase if he is ready to call out Kane later tonight, Dibiase gets flustered and eventually gets out that he is not ready to call out Kane and that he needs just one more week to gain his composure. Orton is obviously angry, but has other things to worry about so he grants Dibiase that leniency.

0:42-1:00-Shad and Randy Orton VS Jamie Noble and Jeff Hardy

Before the match Orton cuts a promo stating that last week Noble got involved in his business and issued a challenge to Orton to face him at the Great American Bash. Orton says that until Noble had cost him his shot at the Undisputed Championship he had absolutely no reason to grant Noble a match, but now he does. Orton tells the fans that make no mistake the Great American Bash will be Noble's funeral. Orton will teach him and everybody in the back a lesson to never mess with Orton or Legacy.

Orton and Shad dominate most of the match. Orton dominates Noble early on and it is looking like Noble may have gotten in way over his head. Orton tears Noble's chest open with ridiculous chops. Noble fights back and is able to make the hot tag to Hardy who raises hell and takes down both Shad and Orton to take us into the commercial break at neutral ground.

0:50-0:53-Commercials

The match ends with Shad and Jeff Hardy brawling up the ramp. Orton and Noble are the legal men. Orton hits an RKO, but instead of pinning Noble gets up to his feet. He taunts Noble and takes liberties. Orton picks Noble up and taunts the fans, out of nowhere Noble rolls Orton up.....the ref makes the count....1.....2......3.....!!!!!

I don't believe it! Call me crazy or is that the biggest pinfall victory of this underdog's career?!

Noble gets the hell out of the ring and retreats backstage. Orton is absolutely furious. His ego and willingness to put hurting Noble ahead of getting a pinfall cost him the match.

1:00-1:05-
We head backstage where Triple H and Edge are going over strategy for their match.
Edge: I just want to get one thing clear Trips, don't get any ideas. I still despise you for you coming to Smackdown last year and trying to take over my show. Our partnership is simply convenient for the both of us, we both oppose Jericho. Got it?

Triple H: Don't worry Edge, the feeling is mutual.

Edge: Good, and don't expect me to be doing any of that DX Crotch Chopping garbage.

Triple H: Woah, woah, woah! Who said anything about D-Generation X? DX is dead and gone. Sure it was back last year, but that was novelty more than anything. Vince wanted to sell some T-Shirts and Shawn and I agreed. DX has been dead since Shawn retired in 98 and it would take a pretty desperate situation for us to bring it back, we're past that.

Edge:
Alright, enough of these politics. Let's just worry about extracting our revenge on the Apostle's Of Revolution in the Main Event tonight.

The scene fades out...

1:05-1:06-
Orton is seen walking backstage furiously trashing the arena corridors. He runs into David Smith who is approaching the curtain getting ready for his match next.

Orton: I just want you to know David, that if you don't defeat Jimmy Wang Yang tonight and give me something to be positive about, don't bother coming back through that curtain or else it'll be the last thing you do.

1:10-1:26-
David Smith W/Jamal VS Jimmy Wang Yang W/Funaki
Both Smith and Wang Yang are very competent in ring performers. They in turn provide an excellent TV match that tells a great story. Early on in the match Jamal attacks Funaki and as a result both men are sent backstage in order to minimize the distractions.

The story of the match is Jimmy Wang Yang's speed and high flying abilities are constantly being countered by David Smith's technical and mat ability. Smith continually attempts but fails to hook in the deadly Sharp Shooter.

Smith keeps Wang Yang grounded, but Wang Yang makes a hot comeback near the finish of the match taking out Smith. Wang Yang goes to the top rope for a splash, Smith catches him and rolls out on top and hooks the Sharpshooter for the submission win!

Here is your winner, David Smith!

At least with Smith winning Orton might be able to keep his blood pressure issues under control....maybe....

1:30-1:34-A Hype package is shown of Vince McMahon's accomplishments and controversy's. At the end it is announced that Vince will be on Raw live in two weeks for a huge announcement.

1:38-2:06 (Including Overrun)-The Apostle's Of Revolution (Kendrick and Miz) VS Triple H and Edge

The Apostle's dominate early on. Triple H and Edge cannot work together as a team and as a result have a number of avoidable mis communications costing them the upper hand. The Apostle's are able to cheat behind the referees back and constantly double team the legal man. We go into our last commercial with Jericho and cheer leading at ringside as the Apostle's dominate.

1:48-1:52-Commercials

We come back and HHH is thrown to the outside. Jericho is able to distract the ref long enough for Mike Knox at ringside to whip HHH into the steps. Knox throws HHH back into the ring which allows Kendrick to get a quick two count. Out of nowhere HBK runs down the ramp and starts brawling with Jericho and Knox in an attempt to even the odds at ringside. In the ring Miz and Kendrick double team HHH and ignore the referees plees for them to get back to their corner. Edge jumps in and we've got an all out brawl on our hands. The referee has no choice but to ring the bell and end things in a no contest.

The brawl continues, at first the tandem of HHH, HBK, and Edge have the upper hand but numbers prevail. Jericho leads as the General as his squad dissects HHH, HBK, and Edge in the ring. The fans are showering the Apostle's with boos.......

"MIIIIIIIIISTTTTERRRRR KENNNNEEEEDDDDYYYY......KENNNNNEDDDYYYYY!!!!!"

What the hell? What is Mister Kennedy doing out here? The last time we saw him he was defeated by Jericho in the Undisputed Championship tournament!

Kennedy runs down to the ring and takes out Jericho, evening the odds. HHH, HBK, and Edge are able to comeback and knock the Apostle's out of the ring.

The show ends with HHH, Edge, and HBK all looking very confused as to why Ken Kennedy of all people would put himself in harms way to help them. Maybe we'll get some answers next week.

The show once again goes off the air with the Apostle's retreating while the challengers stand tall in the ring.
