| Black people are offered scholarships and job opportunaties because statistically they are not on an equal level. Even with all the great advantages they have their still not on an equal level.
Scholarships is an issue which is often blown out of proportion in the United States by whiny pale faced ####s.
Most black people who get scholarships OVER white people are black people with fairly high SAT scores. They are typically a bit lower then white kids, but because of areas where they come from (example, Chicago) they didn't have all the advantages that some of the white kids had. For example, they probably weren't offered the chance to do pre-testing and probably didn't come from a family which helped them prepare for it in the first place. So the line of thought is, a black kid from an area of poverty who scores fairly high on the SATs but not as high as a white kid, is actually, in many instances a lot more intelligent anyway.
The only logical complaint about this is what about the white kid who grew up in poverty? Well, in most cases anyone who grows up in poverty gets a better chance at getting into a school….if his test scores are within reason.
It’s not as if they just look through a field of photos looking for a black face. |
