If I remember correctly there was a time when Owen pinned Bret and won the title. I can’t remember if it was televised or at a house show. Anyway, the decision was reversed due to outside interference.

I think that Owen could have definitely carried the company. Especially, after the Survivor Series towel match and, after knocking (Kayfabe) HBK unconscious with a kick to the back of the head, or even after the Montreal Screw job when Owen was the lone member of the Hart foundation remaining in the WWE.

I think eventually he would have had a couple of title reigns somewhere down the line.
