| I know someone will mention Rob Feinstein, although he's not a wrestler and yeah, he made a big mistake and lost alot but he's actually recovered from that pretty well, his shoot business always seems to be healthy. |
He did some managing, so I'd say he counts. More than anything, the shame he brought on could of killed ROH. Because of him, several feuds and story lines were forced to be canceled prematurely and the company lost several wrestlers. Even though his shoot series and website does well, his name is still very much so a taboo for wrestling.
I'll also say someone like Hulk Hogan was temporarily a shamed wrestler. At the height of the steroid scandal, he bombed an appearance on the Arsenio Hall Show that made him and the WWE look bad. The guy who helped wrestling become a mainstream attraction in the 80's made it look bad just a few years later.
Those dozen or so names that was listed in Sports Illustrated that had connections to buying steroids that was released in late 2007. With the whole Benoit tragedy still fresh in the news, it only made things worse.
Teddy Hart. Here you have a guy who burned his bridges with TNA, ROH and was released due to his attitude twice with the WWE. With such a major last name, he seems to just put a big black eye on it at times.
Dynamite Kid. With all the talent he had he really fell apart. Now he's an example of what drugs can do to your body, he's bitter about everything and has had his marriage problems broadcast to all. With all of the talk of Benoit idolizing Dyno as a kid, it makes everything that happened in 2007 all the more unsurprising. This is a guy who held a gun to his wife's head and told her he was going to kill her.
There's plenty more throughout the history of wrestling from the range of major shame such as Benoit to a much lower level such as Booker T. You can see shame in any of the workers who were too drugged up to work, was busted by the police for drugs, hurt kayfabe or had legal actions brought against them. Vince McMahon himself can be included in the list with more than one of the above examples fitting him.
