| Re: WWF 1998 Just to nitpick, Austin didn't start using the "What" saying until about three years after when you are setting this BTB. Just saying.
Maybe it's because I had insanely high expectations, and maybe because I feel it is impossible to redo the attitude era without trying to do the exact same storylines they did since everything back then is so "classic" but I was disappointed with your show.
This mainly stems from the fact that nothing really built up. As a viewer there is very little to no intriguing reasons for me to want to tune in next week. The top star and new champion Steve Austin did very little. Maybe it would have worked better if you hyped up his open challenge a little more, like had it as the first segment of the show and then thrown in little segments in between of top stars arguing or cutting promos about why they should be the first in line for the belt to accept Austin's challenge. It could have all come to a head at the end of the show with them all going face to face. Maybe leading to some sort of number one contenders match being put in place the next week.
There was also zero mention of Backlash.
I'll give you props for taking on a concept that in my opinion is very hard to pull off simply due to how fondly the attitude era is looked back on by most fans. But sadly, your show did very little for me if anything. |
