| Re: 15. THOUGHTS ON - Best British wrestler ever?
Although you may not have heard of him, i'm going to say George Kidd, best wrestler ever period for that matter, skill wise. He influenced Johnny Saint, Ken Joyce, Steve Grey & Johnny Kidd to name afew and indirectly (via Saint) influenced alot of the American indy darlings in some aspects aswell. He created that incredibly sophisticated, technical style that everyone loves Saint for, George held the British Lightweight Championship for 26 years!
- Dog colllar matches
Great old school gimmick match, but potentially dangerous if not done properly, but yeah usually some great brawls, most famous one perhaps being Greg Valentine vs. Roddy Piper, where I believe Piper actually lost some of his hearing.
- Young Jeff Hardy
How young are we talking, back in the 90s he was of course the more adventerous, high flying Hardy Boy, like WWEs answer to ECWs Rob Van Dam, in whatever he lacked technical wise, it was hidden by his aerial antics, would never had imagined he'd go on to be the champ though, then again, you could say the same for Edge.
- TLC matches
Awesome, shame we don't have them anymore in the WWE, although I suppose they're specialist to certain teams, and we have the MITB matches anyway, but they were crazy, the amout of spot potentials makes them unpredictable.
- Steve Corino
He came into ECW at the rear end of the companies history, but more than any other established ex ECW alumni, he went on to have a great, even a better career after ECW, he hasn't lived off of that company doing hardcore indy shows in & around PA, although he wouldn't have done so well had it not been for them for sure, but yeah, he's a success story. |
