I'd say it's mainly because of how rarely he's lost. Minus an unmentioned Tito Santana loss and the title loss to Hogan, Taker was undefeated from his debut until roughly Royal Rumble 1994. Guys like Hunter, Bob Holly, Billy Gunn and JBL (Basically, anyone who was in the WWE for a long time) wasn't treated the same in terms of win/loss.
