| This is more of a preliminary announcement than anything so as to gauge overall interest. I'll keep it up for a week or so then determine if we have enough interested parties.
After much thought and deliberation, I'm offering members of the Open Forum the chance to participate in a customized Fantasy Wrestling league.
The format will be as follows:
1. The league will start with a draft. The order will be chosen at random and will be in serpentine format (i.e., 1-10 pick, then 10-1 pick.) Each "owner" will pick four wrestlers (a tag team counts as one wrestler). After the draft, each "stable" will automatically activate all four wrestlers.
2. Scoring will be determined as follows: 2 points for each win, 0 points for a loss, and 1 point for a DQ. Screwjobs don't count towards anything except sympathy from me, your commissioner.
2a. Advanced scoring ideas - I'm thinking of having title wins and losses count for double points, and the same for gimmick matches. PPV matches will probably be given some sort of weighting as well. As you can imagine, there are a lot of ways to earn points.
3. Here's the part I'm debating. Each [b:post_uid10]month[/b:post_uid10], each stable will either face off against another stable in head-to-head action or stables will be ranked on overall points.
4. Either way, in order to prevent monopolies, at the end of each month each team [b:post_uid10]must release two wrestlers[/b:post_uid10]. These wrestlers will go back into the pool and we'll have another draft. The new draft order will be determined by overall standings (i.e., new people will get first dibs.) Any "new" wrestlers will be placed into this pool as well.
5. There will be [b:post_uid10]no injured reserve[/b:post_uid10]. If your wrestler goes down, he's a liability to your whole unit, so choose wisely.
6. Trades will be possible [b:post_uid10]at the end of the month[/b:post_uid10]. Again, you can't just keep swapping wrestlers with your buddy - there's only one shot a month to make improvements to your roster.
7. Finally, I'm thinking of throwing in a wildcard bonus. Basically, you can pick one non-PPV match a month where the outcome will be doubled. You have to do this before the show the match is on begins.
Ok, I know that's a lot to digest, so everyone who's interested post in this thread and get back to me. I literally just thought this up last night, so things are kind of raw and I'm more than willing to make concessions.
As for where the results will be posted, I'd like to keep uploading a spreadsheet to someone's site, so maybe if I can con Spinoff or something into hosting we can do that. Otherwise, I'll just keep posting the results on this board.
