Re: Do botch finishes end up telling a better story?

I can honestly say that before they both nearly killed themselves outside the ring with a moonsault and a suicide dive respectively I'd lost interest. It just didn't flow at all and felt all over the show to me. But as soon as HBK landed awkward on his wrist, and Taker took the bump onto the back of his neck I was totally and utterly involved. The fact that they had legit almost killed themselves for a match had my attention, and the countout while Taker was recovering had me in utter disbelief that the streak would end on a countout. I marked like a little girl when he got in the ring.

I dunno I thought there were a couple of great sequences before that spot, most notably the one that ended with HBK caught in the Hell's Gate. I get what you mean about the botch (singular) helping the match, but there is no way HBK's moonsault spot was a botch. He was supposed to crash and burn. Taker pushed him out of the way.

"A few weeks prior to signing with WCW, I witnessed Hogan wrestle Flair on Nitro. Now strictly from a fan perspective, it was very hard to watch. What I witnessed that night was two legends that were shells of their former selves still trying to do it. Watching Hogan & Flair that night just wasn't right. In my opinion the bookers were just exploiting them to try to pop a number. It was a desperate situation and that's exactly the way it came across on TV."

Are you saying you would watch Punk fuck a bald chick in a porno?

I'm saying I'd watch Punk alone in a porno.
